At our church Christmas party Santa showed up and we of course had to put our kids on his lap. Caleb seemed pretty fascinated by all that hair.

This is the first year that Danny hasn't screamed when he sat on Santa's lap. He still looks worried, but at least he's not crying! Maybe it's because we told him that Santa will bring him presents on Christmas. He didn't quite get the concept and thought Santa was going to give him a present right then. We kept trying to explain that he'll get his presents in lots of tomorrows. Oh well!
I have always wondered why we teach our kids to not talk to strangers but then make them go sit on a big bearded red fat guy every Christmas and tell them their secret desires. Doesn't make much sense!!! =)

yeah, i remember hearing about kids wanting to go see santa, but once there, they forget that desire and bawl until they're well away. weird!
I agree about the stranger/santa paradox. I'm such a bad Mom. I was actally kind of annoyed at the kids for NOT wanting to go near Santa. After all, I was all ready to take great pics, right? LOL. I did come to my sanity, finally!
