In other exciting news we decided to splurge. We got a big tax refund since we have paid so much money in interest on our house this year. So we decided to get a new bed. Our bed is a hand-me-down from Ben's mom. It's a gorgeous, cherry wood, 4-poster bed- but every time you move it squeeks and shakes. It drove me crazy when I was pregnant. FYI Ben is a very wiggly sleeper. He is fine once he falls asleep but until then- he rolls over, moves, jumps, somersaults, etc on the bed. We decided it was better to get a new bed than for me to strangle Ben. I am so excited- We went to American Furniture Warehouse and laid on every single mattress. Danny loved it. We finally decided on one that is a king size, Simmons Beauty Rest mattress with a pillow top. It gets delivered on Wednesday. I can hardly wait.
Ben has also wanted a really nice new guitar for at least 5 years. There is always something else we need to spend the money on- ie, food, diapers, etc. He doesn't like his job and so we decided he needed something to be excited about. So he bought a new guitar. He loves it!

good for you at doing something fun. joe and i are continually in a debate as to whether it is best to live in the present or to save for the future. we take opposite sides and therefore have been doing a good job of landing in the middle. i am also glad you didn't strangle one of my husband's all time favorite people.
sorry ben's not enjoying his job--last time i heard he liked it quite a bit. of course, i think that was while y'all were still in cali. is it just the hours, or the nature of the work isn't as fulfilling?
