Sorry about the rapid influx of blog posts- I am a great procrastinator at just about everything- including blog posts. So I finally decided it just couldn't wait any more.
Ben has been travelling quite a bit lately for work. When he is home he is also working really long hours. We are both going a little crazyfrom no personal time, together time or sleep. I have been attempting to hold down the fort while he's gone. I can hardly imagine how single mother's do it. I admire them so much- I definitely couldn't do it. I feel like some days I am like a chicken with it's head cut off. Just running from one thing to the next all day long. You know what it's like- changing diapers, to fixing meals, doing dishes, cleaning up, playing with kids, etc, etc, etc. I loved Elder Ballard's talk in General Conference. It helped me SO much and reminded me to truly try to enjoy this time while they are little. It is hard but I still love it. I just wish I had more breaks and more sleep.
Danny is 3 1/2 and is such a fun little boy. We are STILL working on potty training. We have taken a brief break from it since it was causing me an ulcer. It was going so well for a while. I know he can do it, he went some days with no accidents. He is just so stubborn and will suddenly have a day full of accidents. I also can't get him to go #2 in the toilet. SO FRUSTRATING! I would spend some serious money to hire someone to potty train him. We have tried everything! We'll try again in a week or two and hopefully he will be ready. What a cute but stubborn boy! I'm excited to put him in preschool next year. He will go to preschool at the house of a women who is in our ward. I have heard such good things about it and I know he will love it. It will be fun for him to be in the same preschool as many of his friends.
The weather here has been pretty typical Colorado weather, high 60's one day and then snow the next. Most of last week was full of snow storms but this week is supposed to be in the 60s and 70s!! I am so excited! I can hardly wait to plant flowers. Too bad I can't until after Mother's Day. We want to plant lilac bushes this year!

Good luck with the potty training! Jack is almost 3 1/2 and he won't go anywhere near the potty. I totally hear you about hiring someone to do it. I am convinced he is going to be in diapers in Kindergarten. Oh, but we love our stubborn little boys!!
Sorry about the potty-training agony. I totally understand. I feel like my life was nothing but poop and pee last year and it was SO hard. I've finally got both of them about 99% there and I would say it's about my biggest accomplishment in life. Really.
That is awesome about the new bed and all the fun stuff. Shopping is really fun.
Sounds like Ben is doing wonderful at his job if his hours are like that. Hope you guys will get some more time together soon. You have such a cute family!!
I thought Nathan would NEVER go #2 in the potty. He was potty trained until it got to #2, he would go and put on a pull-up and poop in it. I was MAD. So I cut a hole in in the back of the pull up so he had to poop in the potty. With a lot of encouragement and some toy prizes, IT WORKED. He has done it ever since. I kept the sizzors handy and cut a nice hole in his pull ups! It's great! He now gets gummy worms when he poops on the potty!
Hi I'm Dave Fowles wife, we had trouble with our 3 1/2 yr old too. Then two weeks ago I bought him boxer briefs and he hasn't had any problems since. I don't know why it worked but it did.
Angie- hang in there. I loved Elder Ballards talk too- I feel like i need to print it out and leave it hanging up on the fridge so I glance at the words a little every day. As for the potty training, good luck. Have you invited other kids over to the house to play who know how to go in the toilet. I had Asher watch his friends and then I bribed him with his Halloween candy, I also didn't leave the house or really do anything productive other than potty training for a good 3 days but those 3 days of total FOCUS were what Asher needed. I know every kids is different, so that's my advice.
