Olivia tagged me a while ago with this one, so here are 7 odd/interesting/random facts about me:
1. I have a thing with numbers. I’m pretty good at remembering random phone-numbers, my credit card numbers, and library card number.
2. I love to travel. I was blessed to be in a family where we went on a family vacation every year. These are some of my favorite memories. I have a goal to do that with my own family- even if it is just to go camping for a night or two. I must admit that I have realized how hard it is- it costs a ton, it’s hard to get away and it’s especially difficult with kids. We did our first family vacation in Yellowstone this year. I feel so grateful to my dad who always planned these amazing trips, especially with 5 kids. When I lived in Europe I was able to travel a lot as well. In Europe the countries are so much closer together, travelling to England or Germany from Paris was like travelling to Utah from Denver. I had some wonderful friends who would let me tag along on their family vacations, travelled with school, church, etc. In college I seriously considered majoring in Travel and Tourism.
3. Most of you know I lived in Paris, France for 3 years from ages 15 to 18. When I was 15 I wasn’t too happy about it but I learned to love it and now feel extremely blessed for all I got to experience while I lived there. I spent most weekends on the Champs Elysees, and went to school parties by the Eiffel Tower, went to Midnight Mass at Notre Dame, got my portrait drawn next to the Sacre Coeur Cathedral, had graduation dinner on the Eiffel Tower, rollerbladed by the Seine and around the Louvre(on the outside, not the inside).
4. I went to Israel with my seminary class when I was 16. Not only was it amazing in and of itself but we had studied the New Testament that year so everything we had talked about became all the more meaningful to me. I feel like that trip changed my life and deepened my testimony in a way that nothing else could. To walk where Jesus Christ literally walked was a profound experience.
5. I used to like to think that I was somewhat of a rebel, even thought I wasn’t really. I never did anything too serious but I did go to the bars in France with my friends on the weekends. By the way- I never drank alcohol- just coke. After seeing how stupid my friends acted, I lost any desire to drink with them. The drinking age is 16 in France. I also used to like to go dancing and clubbing. I had 3 earrings in 1 ear and 2 in the other. I did take these out when President Hinckley asked us all to- but I gotta tell you- it was pretty hard for me. =)
6. I have a tendency to become every stereotype I have made fun of or sworn I never would become. I wrote to a missionary, I then ditched that missionary for a guy born and raised in Utah- none the less; I live in the suburbs in a neighborhood where the homes tend to look similar to each other since they are a variation of about 5 different models- I previously called these cookie cutter homes, I majored in a very feminine major- Early Childhood Education and married someone that majored in an accounting major.
7. I like all kinds of music. I must admit that my tastes have become more mellow and conservative over the years. I used to love going to concerts and I still would enjoy going to one depending on who it was. Within a couple of years during college I went to the concerts of Matchbox 20, NSYNC, Dave Matthews Band, Blues Traveler, Blink 182, U2, Peter Breinholt, Ryan Shupe, etc. I didn’t necessarily love all these bands but went more for the experience.
Now I'm supposed to tag people but I think almost everyone has done this one- so I tag anyone who hasn't done it.

you are so funny. I loved reading that. I can imagine that we would have been good friends even in high school. Why did we only live near each other for a year? Maybe we'll end up in Denver someday!
